Free Mammograms Offered in Austin, Texas on November 23rd, 24th

If you are uninsured, need a mammogram and are in the Austin, Texas area, here’s a great opportunity. allgo is collaborating with the Seton Cancer Screening Program to provide free mammograms to women in the Austin area. Breast self-exam teaching and pamphlets will also be provided.

To quality for a free mammogram, you must meet the following criteria:

No insurance, under insured or have a high/unaffordable yearly deductible and/or low income.
No implants, not pregnant, not breast feeding, and no current breast problems.
No previous mammograms within the past year.
No history of breast cancer.
Must be at least 40 years old.

The free mammogram event will be November 23rd & 24th at allgo, 701 Tillery Suite A-1, Austin, TX 78702. Appointments are required for the free mammograms. For your free mammogram appointment, please call Seton Cancer Screening at 512-505-5528 or 1-866-294-4923.

The American Cancer Society recommends that women receive an annual mammogram starting at age 40, obtain an annual clinical breast exam by a healthcare professional and perform monthly breast self-exams.Breast cancer is the disease many women fear the most, and early detection and treatment can dramatically improve a woman’s chances of survival. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women, exceeded only by lung cancer. If detected early – and mammography is the best way to do that – the five-year survival rate for patients is more than 90 percent.
